EMPI 4340 Forged Counterweighted Crankshaft, VW Journal
EMPI has developed this high quality crankshaft with the racer in mind. We've used a ton of these, and always had terrific results. It is 4340 forged chromoly for maximum strength and durability. It has been magnafluxed, shot-peened, nitrided, and micro polished. It's cross drilled, with chamfered holes, dynamically balanced, 8-doweled with extra long dowel pins, and of course counterweighted to eliminate flex.
Some builders prefer VW journals for maximum diameter and strength. Others prefer Chevy (2") journals for lighter weight, less friction at the bearing surface, and for additional clearance. Choose the size you need below and build with confidence.
